The semester is over, you still have work to do, but once that's done you don't have to think about teaching until next September. You will some wonderful times with Jaden during that time and it will be so much more relaxing. I'm so glad you decided to take next semester off - for Jaden - as well as for you and Neville. Elmo's voice is so much fun for babies. Like everyone has already said, as long as he is being stimulated in other ways....he will be fine. As a mom, I know how you need a break!!!! I loved naptime to just regroup but if he is not napping so well, it is not so great for you. Also, Jaden needs to figure out on his own, how to "play" by himself--with you supervising of course. Keep Elmo on and place some puzzles or blocks, etc. near him, he will eventually move over and begin to "play". It sounds like you're doing a great job, don't second guess yourself! Give yourself credit for making this little boy your #1 priority!!! If Elmo is making him happy…then let him watch it. Elmo’s voice is so much fun for babies. If you're setting him up with lots of things he can do besides/while looking at/listening to the TV, then that's not such a bad thing. Also, it's not like you're sitting him at the TV all day with no other stimulation.
